Diwali

Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights and is India's biggest and most important festival. It is a five day celebration that includes candles, lamps, fireworks, coloured sand and food. The theme of Diwali is the victory of good over evil. During the festival oil lamps called diyas are placed in rows around houses and temples and set adrift on rivers and streams.
